Autumnal Trail

The first autumn colours along the Trail are those of Horse Chestnuts, sadly in some cases because the trees are diseased, with cracking bark, due to a killing infection. However, the brilliant colours of Norway Maples are entirely natural, as are the rich hues of berries on Rose Hips and Rowans. Not all colours are end of season ones, however. At the Park Pond, two new flowers for the Trail list are in flower - Water Mint and Water-Forget-me-not. Nearby, a small member of the Mayfly was in flight - all unseasonal sights.
